Dovie Coree Adams, a resident of Cottonwood, Alabama, died peacefully Saturday, February 17, 2024, at Wesley Place on Honeysuckle surrounded by her loving family. She was 80.
Funeral Services will be held at 11AM, Tuesday, February 20, 2024, in Clearman Chapel at Southern Heritage Funeral Home. Graveside Services will be held immediately following the service in Crestlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10AM until 11AM at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or in lieu of flowers contributions can be made in her honor to Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Avenue, 17 Floor, Chicago, Il. 60601.
Dovie was born to the late Joe Ben and Willie Dell Wilkinson Pilcher on February 17, 1944, in Bainbridge, Georgia. She moved to Houston County at an early age. She began a career in the grocery business, retiring after 30 years. Her hobbies included fishing, camping, and sewing. Dovie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister. Her most enjoyable times were making lasting memories with her family.
Dovie was preceded in death by her husband of forty-six years, Charles Ray Adams; and her parents.
Left to cherish her memories are a son, Scott Adams; two daughters, Shelia Bass (Jamie) and Leigh Baxter; one brother, Ben Ray Pilcher; four grandchildren, Wyatt Bass (Amelia), Tiffany Worley (Jason), Brittany McLean (Colton), and Josh Allums; three great grandchildren, Michael Holder, Tripp Bass, and Charlie Worley; a special K-9, Precious; along with two nieces, and many friends.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to her caregivers for the precious care they gave Mrs. Dovie, Faith Plosser, Angelia Beachum, and Merle Harden, and for the wonderful care she received from Southern Care Hospice and Wesley Place on Honeysuckle.
