Mrs. Eddie B. McNeal Henderson, age 86, a resident of Dothan, died Tuesday February 9, 2016 at the Campbellton Graceville Hospital after an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday February 11, 2016 at the Glover Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Jerry Hood officiating. Burial will follow in the Union Springs FW Baptist Church Cemetery near Ashford with Glover Funeral Home directing.
The family will be receiving friends from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Thursday at the Glover Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Enon Baptist Church Building Fund, 3167 Iris Road, Dothan, AL. 36301.
Mrs. Henderson was born on June 29, 1929 in Houston County the daughter of Clara Mae Worrell McNeal Newsome and Arthur McNeal. She was retired as a seamstress working at Warner’s in Thomasville, Ga.; worked at Winn Dixie and she lived in Phenix City for a number of years. Mrs. Henderson moved to Dothan twenty years ago from Lakeland, Georgia and she was a member of the Mt. Enon Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rev. Buford Henderson; a son, George William Henderson; 2 grandsons, Bobby Applin & Richie Applin; a brother, Billy McNeal.
Survivors include: 2 daughters, Barbara Parker (Bill), Montgomery; Patty Kay, St. Augustine, FL.; a son, Joe Henderson, Dothan; 3 sisters, Ollie Mae Hatcher, Ashford; Dorothy Holmes (Howard), Auburndale, FL.; Helen Jarvies (Louie), Green Cove Springs, FL.; a brother, Charles McNeal (Martha), Headland; 7 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews; special friends, Linda Shriver, Dothan; Sara Pitts, Cottonwood.
Pallbearers will be: Jay Knight, Richard Pearce, Jimmy Jennings, Roy Frazier, Rick Melendez and Joe McCalvin.
Glover Funeral Home of Dothan has been entrusted with the arrangements.
