Mrs. Eddie Elizabeth Miller Hayes, of Ozark, passed away Sunday, July 29, 2012, at her home. She was 90 years of age. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm, Wednesday, August 1, 2012, from the chapel of Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Center Ridge Baptist Church in Ozark with Reverend Matthew Wright officiating and Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6:00pm until 8:00 pm. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Center Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 3573 N. Highway 123, Ariton, AL 36311 or Southeastern Diabetes Education Services, 500 Chase Park South, Suite 104, Hoover, Al 35244.

Mrs. Hayes was born August 1, 1921 in Dale County, the daughter of the late Adam Miller and Minnie Griggs. She was an avid gardener and cook. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Mr. Lewis Mansel Hayes; daughter, Elizabeth Hayes Garner; sisters, Thelma Davis and Lizzie Ann Miller; and brother, Oneal Miller.

She is survived by three brothers: Ad "June" Miller of Ozark, James and Doris Miller of Ozark, Edward and Carrie Miller of Ozark; two granddaughters: Andrea Garner McLendon and husband, Terrance, of Ariton; Renee Garner of Ariton; two great-granddaughters, Libbi McLendon and Hannah Beckworth; son-in-law, Johnny Garner of Ariton; sisters-in-law, Grace Miller of Ozark, and Reba Hayes of Perry, FL; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
