Mrs. Edna E. Card of Coffee Springs passed away at Wiregrass Nursing Home on Sunday, April 22, 2012. She was 85. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at the First Baptist Church of Coffee Springs with Rev. Ricky Hall officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Mt. Carmel Primitive Baptist Church Incorporated Cemetery Fund, c/o Ethel Thornton, 687 County Road 651, Coffee Springs, AL 36318.
Mrs. Card was born in Vernon, FL on August 30, 1926 to the late William Alexander and Lillie Brannon Williams. She was a nurse at Wiregrass Medical Center for many years. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Earl Fordham; and second husband, Charlie Card.
She is survived by her two sons, William Fordham and Kenneth Fordham , both of Coffee Springs; daughter, Deborah Cochran (Scott) of Winston, GA; two grandchildren, Kimberly Jerkins of Geneva and Lance Fordham of Orlando, FL; two great grandchildren, Alychia Jerkins and Chance Jerkins, both of Geneva; two sisters, Ellen Whaley of Chancellor and Ethel Thornton (Billy) of Coffee Springs; and numerous nieces and nephews.
