Mrs. Edna Merle Shelley of Dothan went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, September 4, 2013, after an extended illness. She was 75.

 

Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Friday, September 6, 2013, at the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverends Jim Tate and Rick Glenn officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.

 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 to 2 P.M. Friday, September 6, 2013. Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to the Memphis Baptist Church Building Fund.

 

Mrs. Shelley was born September 2, 1938, in Houston County Alabama. She was a graduate of Rehobeth High School. Mrs. Shelley was employed by the Houston County School System.

 

She is preceded in death by her parents, William Royce Watkins and Lettie Pearl Holland Watkins, husband, Billy Shelley, and granddaughter, Cassie Roberts.

 

Survivors include daughter, Wanda Andrews of Dothan; sisters, Shirley Watkins Bowman and her husband, Louie of Dothan; Barbara Watkins Avery and her husband, Jim of Madrid; brother, David Lynn Watkins and his wife, Rhonda of Dothan; and several nieces and nephews.

 

Pallbearers will be Jamey Watkins, Tyler Watkins, Caleb Avery, Jacob Avery, Bob Holman, and Daniel Shelley.
