Mrs. Emmie Alice Nall Underwood, age 85, a resident of Dothan, died Tuesday August 18, 2015 at Wesley Manor after a long battle with Alzheimers.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday August 22, 2015 at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery(Hwy. 431 N.) with Minister Billy Gant officiating and Kendall Glover directing.
The family will be receiving friends from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday at Glover Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Resource Center, P.O. Box 1170, Dothan, Al. 36302 or to Gentiva Hospice, 2740 Headland Ave., Dothan, Al. 36303.
Mrs. Underwood was born on March 6, 1930 in Chapman, Alabama the daughter of Earl Clifford Nall and Catherine Bratcher Nall. She was retired after 19 years as the office manager for the local office of Congressman Bill Dickinson. Mrs. Underwood was a longtime member of the Lafayette Street United Methodist Church; a graduate of Dothan High School and she attended Montevallo College.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas Cody Underwood, Jr. and a sister, Jane Earle Adkinson.
Survivors include: 2 sons, Reid Underwood (Kathy) & Sam Underwood (Amy) both of Dothan; sister-in-law, Betty Lane Underwood Smith, Dothan; 4 grandchildren, Kim Bullard (Matt), Lafayette, La.; Scott Underwood (Amy), Dothan; Bratcher Underwood & Sally Ann Underwood, both of Dothan; 5 great-grandchildren, Katherine & Abby Bullard, both of Lafayette, La.; Gant, Reid & Anne Claire Underwood, all of Dothan.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews.
Glover Funeral Home of Dothan has been entrusted with the arrangements.
