     Erma Ruth Wiggins Parker of Dothan, AL, passed away on November 23, 2016, after a brief illness.  She was 80 years old.

     Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, November 28, 2016, at Ward Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Willis officiating.  Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00-2:00 PM.

     Mrs. Parker was born on October 25, 1936, in Houston County to the late Earnest & Beatrice Wiggins.  They resided in the Greenfront Community.  Mrs. Parker graduated from Houston County High School in 1955.  She married Joe C. Parker on June 6, 1957.  Mrs. Parker was employed for many years by First National Bank of Dothan, and retired from Southtrust Bank.  She was an avid gardener, tending to many flowers and plants. Mrs. Parker enjoyed cooking for her family, caring for her pets, and spending time with her grandchildren.  She was a long-time member of Beulah Baptist Church, and later followed Ridgecrest Baptist Church through the television ministry.

     Mrs. Parker was preceded in death by her father, Earnest F. Wiggins; mother, Beatrice Davis Wiggins; brothers Marcus M. Wiggins and Don A. Wiggins; and close friend, Jean Lasseter.

     Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Joe C. Parker; son, Steve Parker; daughter, Cheryl Parker Todd (Andy); granddaughter, Ellen Caroline Todd Leonard (Matthew); grandson, Davis Anthony Todd; close friends Theresa Lowry and Peggy Hughes; as well as cousins, nieces, and a nephew.

     In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ridgecrest Baptist Television Ministry or the Wiregrass Humane Society.
