Mrs. Ernestine Motley “Maw Maw/Granny” Morrow of Geneva, Alabama passed away Monday, March 3, 2014. She was 77.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 6, 2014 in the Chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Jimmy Eddins officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home and Crematory of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, March 5, 2014, from 6 until 8 p.m.
Mrs. Morrow was born August 27, 1936, to the late Paul and Vickie Mae Danford Motley. She spent many years of her life working as a child care provider in her home. She was well known to many as “Mou.” Until the day she passed, these children that are now grown adults and their parents, still refer to her as “Mou.” She was of the Church of God faith.
In addition to her parents her husband, Johnny Lewis Morrow, as well as four siblings: Cecil Motley, Jr. Motley, Voncile Walker and Ouida Johnson, all preceded her in death.
Survivors include one son, Johnny Wayne Morrow (Kathy), of Geneva; two daughters: Diane Mock (Ray) of Samson and Sharon Morrow of Chancellor; one sister, Nita Danner of Hartford; seven grandchildren: Pepper Mock (Amber), Slocomb, Brittaney Mills (Chase), Coffee Springs, Chasitie Gilmore, Geneva, Chelsie Chancellor, Muscle Shoales, Cole Mock (Kristin), Samson, Cord Mock, Samson and Jeffrey Chancellor, Chancellor; six great-grandchildren: Troy, Trevor and Kyla Mock, Alex Gilmore, Jaxson and Judson Mills; very special friend, Jane Dillard; several nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Dr. John F. Simmons for his compassionate care extended to their mother.
