Esther Pluma Dunn, a resident of Ozark, died Friday, December 22, 2017 at Oakview Manor in Ozark, Alabama. She was 91.

Esther was born in Albion, New York, was raised in Upstate New York. She met Grady at Ben Franklin High School when she was a clarinetist in the band. She sang at many church and school events, as a soloist. She worked at Kodak and attended Junior college as a teen. Married Grady 70 years ago at First Methodist Church in Rochester, NY in August 1947 and lived as an Air Force wife in Europe and South America. Esther used her many talents raising three children and sewing their clothes, teaching them crocheting, ceramics, fossil hunting and gem-smithing. She was a loving wife and mother. A talented baker who delighted family and friends with pies, cakes, cookies, breads and candies. She made miniature dolls, wire-wrapped gem trees on mineral, wood and coral bases; crocheted lacy doilies and sturdy afghan blankets. A beautiful brunette with deep lake-blue eyes, a ready smile and a slender petite figure. She waved at the front door and blinked the porch-light off and on, as a “come back soon”. She ended visits with a “Bye bye for now!” Bye for now dearest wife, dearest Mom! Love you forever-See you soon.
