Faye Hattaway Wade, 96 years old, died peacefully November 23, 2022 at Wesley Place in Dothan, Alabama.
Faye was born April 18, 1926 in Miami, Florida to Willie Thomas and Mary Edna Crews Hattaway. After spending most of her early life in Florida, she moved to Dothan, Alabama where she met and married the love of her life, Otho Wade. They were married for 41 years prior to his death.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, her parents and her sister, Evelyn Culbreath of Geneva, Georgia.
She was first and foremost a loving wife, sister, mother and grandmother who devoted her life to taking care of her family. She was the consummate homemaker who loved cooking for others. She passed this passion for food along to her daughter and granddaughter and many of her family recipes are still being enjoyed today.
She is survived by her daughter, Tonya Wade Johnson and her granddaughter, Cornelia (Celie) Wade Johnson, both of Boston, Massachusetts.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Dothan Area Botanical Gardens, 5130 Headland Avenue, Dothan, Alabama 36303.
We are thankful for her long life, so well-lived. We appreciate the love, compassion and care given by those at Wesley Place, especially Nicki, Suzie, Jamie, Angela, Alexus and the Kindred Hospice team of Desiree, Susan and Brother Eddie.
There will be a private family burial.
