Mrs. Frances Wilcox Majors went home to be with the Lord in her home Tuesday, November 22, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. She was 80.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 25, 2016 in the Izagora Congregational Methodist Church with the Rev. Franklin Dowling Penny officiating and the eulogy given by Larry Curry. The church is located, at 1501 Hwy 179-C, Bonifay, Florida, 32425. The burial will follow in the Izagora Cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 23, 2016, in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home beginning at 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
Mrs. Majors was born April 19, 1936 to the late, Bobby Franklin and Era Barnes Wilcox from Bonifay, Florida. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend to her family and friends. She spent her early years in Bonifay, Florida until she married and moved to Caryville, Florida. In 1998 she moved to Geneva, Alabama. She was a lifelong member of the Congregational Methodist Church in the Izagora Community of Florida. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and sewing. She touched the lives of everyone around her with her kindness, love and happiness. As stated in Philippians 4:11. “Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned in whatsoever state I am therewith to be content”, she lived her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Herman Carter Majors, one sister: Alice Sellers and one brother: Wayne Wilcox.
She is survived by her children: Mike Majors, Bonifay, Florida, Becky Smith (Greg), Milton, Florida, Lisa Bryan (Mike), Geneva, Alabama, Sheila Bowling (Brad), Woodstock, Georgia and Marty Majors (Tiffany), Bonifay, Florida.
Eight grandchildren: Whit Majors, Emily Majors Maines (Bill), Maci Bryan, Michael Bryan, Bradley Majors (Julie), Rachel Bowling, Matthew Bowling and Blake Majors.
Two great-grandchildren: Madison and Mackenzie Maines.
One Sister: Janice Chitty (Paul), Geneva, Alabama
Two Brothers: Frank Wilcox (Gloria), Westpoint, Georgia and Paul Wilcox (Linda), Bellefontaine, Ohio.
One Sister-in law: Debbie Wilcox Morris, Bonifay, Florida
One Brother-in-law: Edward Sellers, Bonifay, Florida
