Mrs. Frieda Katz, of Dothan, passed away Thursday, May 1, 2014 at the medical center. She was 94.
Born March 26, 1920 in Birmingham, Alabama to the late Ed and Sara Friedman Greenberg, Mrs. Katz was very involved at the Temple Emanu-El, including sisterhood, and Hadassah. She was also a volunteer at the medical center, and for many years she was the buyer for the china department at Blumberg’s Department Store, before becoming the bookkeeper at Katz Auto Parts.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Sidney Katz, four brothers, Sam Greenberg, Nathan Greenberg, Herman Greenberg, and Emanuel Greenberg.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Roselyn Greenberg and many loving nieces, nephews and dear friends. The family would like to say a special thank you to all of her caregivers.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM, Sunday, May 4, 2014 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rabbi Lynne Goldsmith officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Temple Emanu-el or charity of your choice.
