OZARK…Mrs. Geri Lisenby Taylor, a resident of the Pleasant Grove Community, near Ozark, died early Sunday evening, February 20, 2022, at her home. She was 76.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, February 24, 2022, in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Hospice Chaplain Kevin Kelley officiating. The family will receive friends following the graveside service. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Taylor, daughter of the late J.B. Lisenby and Pauline Brown Lisenby, was a native and lifelong resident of Ozark. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, where in earlier years, she was the Nursery director. Mrs. Taylor and her husband formerly worked as Park Attendants for the Army Corps of Engineers at Lake Eufaula and Lake Lanier. She enjoyed fishing and her flower garden. Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her first husband, Marlon Peters; two sisters, Jo McNew and Chris Freeman; a brother, Eugene Lisenby.
Surviving relatives include her husband, John C. Taylor, Ozark; a son, William N. Peters (Angela), Ozark; three step-children, Skip Taylor, Destin, FL, Tony Taylor (Linda), Panama City, FL, and Tammy Quimby (Chris), Warner Robbins, GA; three sisters, Phyllis Deal (Jack), Cowarts, Teresa Wornell, Ozark, and Tommie Bailey, Albany, Georgia; grandchildren, Taylor Peters, the light of her life, Megan, Matthew, Anthony, Austin, Brittany, Chase, Spencer, and Skylar; numerous nieces and nephews.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Taylor Peters, Eddie Hardwick, Gus Hardwick, Matt Johnston, Paul Blackmon, and Chris Braman.
