Gladys Pearl Hinson, a resident of Ashford, Alabama died Thursday, April 4, 2024, at her home. She was 91.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30PM, Sunday, April 7, 2024, at Love Hill Cemetery with Pastor Stephen Peacock officiating and Southern Heritage Funeral Home directing.
Gladys was born to the late William and Clara Mae Harper on October 19, 1932. She began her work at Wex Text and upon their closing she worked for ten years at Sony before her retirement.
Gladys loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was a devout member of Love Hill Assembly of God. Her hobbies included most of all fishing, cooking, football, and baseball. In the fall you could always find her on Saturday’s cheering on her Alabama Crimson Tide “Roll Tide”, and starting in the spring she would be cheering on her Atlanta Braves. Gladys was a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother. She enjoyed nothing more than spending time and making lasting memories with her family. She will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-seven years, Homer Lee Hinson; and seven siblings.
Left to cherish her memories are two sons, Jerome Hinson (Rebecca), and Ken Hinson (Dena Hand); two daughters, Teresa Turner (Robert), and Deborah Tillis (Randy); one brother, Ewell Harper; six grandchildren, Pamela Bauer (Marc), Curtis Turner, Brittney Reed (David), Marc Tillis (Tish), Bryan Tillis, and Kenlee Hinson; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends.
