Mrs. Gladys Starling Fortson of Dothan died Tuesday, June 5, 2012, at her residence. She was 90.

 

Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Thursday, June 7, 2012, at the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Scott Wyatt officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.

 

The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 1 to 2 P.M. Thursday, June 7, 2012, one hour prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to Covenant Hospice, 104 Rockbridge Rd. Dothan, AL 36303.

 

Mrs. Fortson was born April 7, 1922, in Geneva County, Alabama, the daughter of the late Danley Starling and Famie Gilley Starling. She lived in Malvern and was a member of Bay Springs Baptist Church.

 

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Eddie B. Fortson, infant child, two brothers, and one sister.

 

Survivors include sons, Ronald E. Fortson of Dayton, TX; Bruce Fortson and his wife, Sharon of Colquitt, GA; daughters, Rhonda Aplin and her husband, Lamar of Dothan; Iris Williford and her husband, Freddy of Malvern; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
