Gloria A. Green of Dothan passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at the age of 89.


Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM on October 10, 2022, at Ward Wilson Funeral Home with burial to follow in Beulah Baptist Cemetery on Headland Hwy. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.


Gloria was born on May 20, 1933, in Houston County, Alabama to the late Lester C. Green Sr. and Thollie Brackin Green. Gloria lost her hearing completely at the tender age of 15. This disability did not stop her from living life to the fullest. After high school, Gloria traveled to Washington, D.C. where she received her master’s degree from Gallaudet University for the Deaf and Blind. Upon completion of college, Gloria remained in Washington, D.C. where she worked in Civil Service for the military. Gloria retired from Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, as a Cataloger in the library. Gloria loved her family dearly, often traveling every weekend home to spend time with them.


In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her 5 brothers, Wallace, Hidy, LC, infant Harold, and Joe Green; 4 sisters, Sherrie Middleton, Doris Martin, Audrey Cherry, and Sylvia Green.


Survivors include sister, Thessalie Montgomery, and several nieces and nephews.
