Haley Kirkland Forrest, a resident of Dothan, Alabama died Sunday, January 8, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 39.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30PM Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at Memphis Baptist Church with Reverend Jim Tate officiating. Interment will be immediately following the service in the church cemetery with Southern Heritage Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends beginning at 1PM until service time at the church on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her honor to Bethel Christian Academy, 3257 East Cottonwood Rd, Dothan, Al 36301.
Haley was born to David and Joy Morris Kirkland on June 30, 1983 in Birmingham, Alabama. After graduating with honors from Rehobeth High School, Haley attended the University of Alabama where she was a Crimsonette (Majorette) in the Million Dollar Band while her brother played an instrument at the same time. As a faithful member of Memphis Baptist Church, Haley loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Haley was a very kind, thoughtful, and outgoing young lady who never met a stranger. She always filled the room with her amazing presence. Haley was a girly girl, always showing the art of a true lady. She married the love of her life, Jacob Forrest after college, and began a story book family having twin daughters that she dearly loved and cherished. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and granddaughter. Haley will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob Forrest and her father-in-law, Bobbie Forrest; paternal grandparents, Roy Lynn “Jack” and Martha Gaylord Kirkland; maternal grandparents, John and Lena Morris.
Left to cherish her memories are her parents; her twin daughters, Bonnie Joy and Baylee Sue Forrest; a brother, John David Kirkland (Emily); a mother-in-law, Glenda Forrest; a brother-in-law, Josh Forrest (Audrey); nieces and nephews, Blake, Courtney, John Andrew “Jak” and Abigal Kirkland, Ben and Avery Forrest; a special aunt, Pam Hall; along with a large extended family and countless friends.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Sid Morris, Dustin Morris, Stacy Morris, Brody Morris, Braylon Morris, and Justin Dobbs.
