Helen Louise Weekly McGlothlen, a resident of Dothan, died Monday, December 26, 2016 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center. She was 87.


 


Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at Bethel Baptist Church with Dr. Ricky Plummer officiating. Burial will follow in Memphis Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 PM until 1:45 PM prior to the service at the church.


 


Mrs. McGlothlen was born April 19, 1929 in Alma, West Virginia to the late Conrad and Mamie Ash Weekly. She married her husband, Donald McGlothlen in Colorado in the early 60’s and started a Rodeo arena and later moved to Iowa in the 70’s to start a cattle ranch. Mrs. McGlothlen then moved to Alabama in 87’ and worked in the family Auto Auction business until Donald’s death in 2006. She was a member of Bethel Baptist and had a passion for her family, cooking and serving people.


 


Mrs. McGlothlen is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Donald McGlothlen and a daughter, Marlene Armstrong.


 


Survivors include her son, Kevin McGlothlen (Debbie), Olive Branch, MS, daughter, Karen Cronquist (Paul), Garland, TX; son in law, Gene Armstrong; grandchildren, Kaitlin McGlothlen Stanley (Tyler), Kyle McGlothlen, Tony Armstrong, Billy Armstrong, Wendy McCaulley, Alisa Beaty, Elizabeth Meinhart, Nathan Cronquist, Evan Cronquist; three stepsons, Billy, Bobby, Mickey; special companion, Buddy Hinson.
