Imogene Johnson, a resident of Hodgesville community, died Sunday morning December 17, 2023 at her residence. She was 89.
Funeral services for Mrs. Johnson will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at Memphis Baptist church with Brother Jim Tate officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM until 1:45 PM prior to the service at the church. Flowers will be accepted.
Mrs. Johnson was born November 18, 1934 in Houston County to the late Lonnie and Mattie Savell Roberson. She was a lifelong resident of Houston County and worked for Regions Bank for 26 years before her retirement. Mrs. Johnson was a member of Memphis Baptist since 1968 where she taught Sunday School and developed the Barnabus Program Homebound Outreach ministry 14 years ago. She enjoyed working in her yard and building furniture and birdhouses.
Mrs. Johnson is preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Charles Jenkins and Douglas Johnson; a sister, Hazel Wells; granddaughter, Madison Simerly.
Survivors include her children, Debbie Kirkland (Max), Donna Seay (Jimmy), Diana Knight (David), Gary Jenkins (Chris); grandchildren, Mandy Simerly, Amy Clark, Tracey McCord (Kim), Caitlin Knight and Abby Robinson (Colby); five great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
