Irma Virginia (Godwin) Willis passed away peacefully at Southeast Alabama Medical Center on July 26, 2015. She went to be with her Lord at the age of 83 years. She was born in the Harpers Joy Community on April 20, 1932.

Known as a caregiver, she was also a retired hairdresser of 51 years and a retired bus driver after working for 10 years with Dothan City Schools. She served in the ministry at Taylor Assembly of God as Sunday School Teacher and Church Pianist for more than 54 years and recently satisfied a lifelong dream of singing in an organized choir. She also volunteered by crocheting caps for cancer patients of Southeast Alabama Medical Center. In the eyes and hearts of her family and friends her greatest accomplishment was being a Godly woman and mother.

She is predeceased by her loving husband of 46 years, Loyd D. Willis, and her father and mother, Huey and Clara Mae Godwin.

She is survived by her daughters, Patricia (Ray) Calhoun of Centreville and Cathy (Mickey) Kirkland of Montgomery; her son Tony (Judy) Willis of Eufaula; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; her brothers, Jerry (Sue) Godwin of Dothan and Jerome (Gloria) Godwin of Dothan; and her sister, Shirlene (Dalton) Creel of Dothan.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, August 1, 2015 from Taylor Assembly of God Church with Reverend Max McKinney officiating. Burial will follow in Taylor Assembly of God Church Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM until service time.
