Mrs. Janice Joy Woodham, long time resident of Dothan, AL went home to be with the Lord, September 17, 2016 after a long illness.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 from 1 pm – 2 pm at Bethel Baptist Church prior to services which will be held at 2 pm with Bro. Ricky Plummer officiating. Burial will follow in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Kendall Glover directing.
Born September 6, 1937 in Barbour Co. to the late Grady and Maudie Jimmerson. Janice was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, devoted to serving family and friends. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church for 58 years and active member of AGAPE Sunday School Class whom she dearly loved. She worked at Warner Bros. and retired from Sony in 1995. Janice loved to garden and travel with family and friends. She treasured time spent with her grandchildren and family.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her sister, Jean Taylor and brother, Lavon Jimmerson.
Survived by the love of her life of 58 years, Mac Woodham; two children, Kathy (Phillip) Buckley, Phenix City, AL; Kenneth (Rose) Woodham, Dothan, AL; four grandchildren, Jennifer (Scott) Boutwell, Matthew (Holly) Buckley, Courtney and McKenzie Woodham; three great-grandchildren, Anniston Boutwell, Eli Buckley and Marlie Kate Strickland, four sisters, Laura Davenport, Pat McConnell, Sue (Dennis) Greene and Diane Fillingim; three brothers Charles, Bobby and Ricky Jimmerson; and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Mrs. Lois, Ms. Patti, Diane, family members and all special caregivers. Family will accept flowers or donations may be made to the Bethel Baptist Church building fund.
