Janice “Rudean” Newton passed away Sunday, September 6, 2015. She would have been 89 on her next birthday, September 7, 2015.
Mrs. Newton was a lifelong member of Southside Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School, was a member of the choir, and went on many mission trips.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Bertie Cameron; her husband, Frank Newton; her daughter, Melonie Newton; her grandson, Joshua Brannon; and her granddaughter, Kerri Newton.
She is survived by her daughter, Angelin (Joe) Newton; her son, Sam (Marti) Newton; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and a sister.
Funeral services to honor her will be at 11 AM, Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home with Reverend Billy Rich officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 AM until 11 AM at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
Active pallbearers will be Joe Newton, Daniel Newton, Tracy Strozier, and Jarrod Blumberg.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to Gentiva Hospice, 2740 Headland Avenue, Ste 1, Dothan, AL 36303.
The family would like to thank the Henry County Health and Rehabilitation Center for the loving and professional care that was given to their loved one.
