Jean was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 67 years, Wade Glover, her parents, Woodrow and Rose McKay, and her sister, JoAnn Gamble. Her legacy continues through her daughter, Lorri Glover. Her legacy also continues through her special niece, Kay Gamble; nephews, Jim Gamble, Buddy Gamble (Mary Lou), and Bill Gamble (Debbie); cousin, Jerry Horne (Melanie); two great-nieces; one great-nephew; and her adopted daughters, Mondella Tullis, Patricia Poke, Vanita Newman, Manisha Underwood, and Kathy Flowers, along with many other family members who were touched by her generous spirit.
A devout Christian, Jean’s life was a testament to her unwavering faith. She found great joy in sharing the message of Christ with others and served diligently on numerous church boards. Her musical talents graced many church services as she played the piano. Jean’s love for animals knew no bounds, and she was affectionately known as the “Cat Lady.” Travel was one of Jean’s passions, and she cherished the memories made on trips to New York and Las Vegas with her daughter.
As a mother, Jean was unparalleled. Her wisdom and knowledge were her gifts to her daughter; a treasure trove of life lessons and love that will continue to guide and comfort her in the years to come. She was also an avid Auburn fan. Jean will be remembered as a loving, wise, and faith-filled woman. Her presence was a source of strength and inspiration to all who were fortunate enough to cross her path.
As we bid farewell to Jean Glover, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a soul that enriched the lives of so many. Her journey on earth may have ended, but her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those she loved.
The family would like to thank Vita Hospice for their love and support.
