Obituary: Mrs. Jeanette Childs Moseley


 


Mrs. Jeanette Childs Moseley, 96, passed away Thursday, September 7, 2017 at her niece’s home in Littlestown, PA. 


Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. (CST) on Saturday, September 16, 2017, in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory in Slocomb, AL.  Burial will follow in the family plot at Hartford City Cemetery, Hartford, AL. 


The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until service time. 


Mrs. Moseley was born and raised, January 15, 1921 in Hartford, AL to the late Allen Marvin and Sara Malinda Hardwick Childs.  Jeanette moved to Columbus, GA, after marriage and began her career in 1956 at St. Francis Hospital.  She was promoted to Supervisor in the Data Processing office in 1975 and served in this position until her retirement.  After Jeanette’s retirement she joined the Fraternal Order of Georgia’s Rebekahs and held several officer positions.  Jeanette lived a rich and full life, was loved, admired and will be dearly missed. 


In addition to her parents, her husband, Ellison "Thumb" Moseley; children: Charlotte Moseley Vinson and Kenneth Moseley;  siblings: Theron Childs (Roslyn), G.W. Childs, Wynell Childs, Mary Alice Childs Brown (O.C.) and Sarah Childs Mann (William) all preceded her in death. 


Survivors include grandsons: Tommy Vinson, Jr., Slocomb, AL, Jeffrey Vinson (Dana), Madison, AL, Keith Moseley (Angela), Saucier, MS and Kevin Moseley, Tampa, FL; six great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; two nieces: Patricia Childs Hall, Chesapeake Beach, MD and Valentines, VA; and Sherry Mann Cage, Littlestown, PA; one nephew, Gary Mann (Barbara), Martinez, CA; numerous extended family and a large endearing group of friends.
