Mrs. Jeanette Harris of Dothan passed away Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Westside Terrace Healthcare Center.  She was 89. 


Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory in Slocomb with Rev. Greg Aman officiating and her son, Jimmy Doswell and grandson, Keith Rice delivering the eulogy.  Interment will follow in Union Baptist Church Cemetery.


The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until service time. 


Mrs. Harris was born May 3, 1925 in Geneva County to the late Ralph and Lois Lewis Harris.


Jeanette was a dedicated servant of Christ and a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Dothan where she served as church secretary for over 20 years. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be dearly missed. 


In addition to her parents, one son, Danny Joe Doswell and one brother, James Lewis Harris preceded her in death. 


Survivors include a daughter, Charlotte Barden (Russ), Dothan; two sons: Jimmy Doswell (Kathy), Snellville, GA and Sam Doswell (Karen), Niceville, FL; two sisters: Betty Arnold, Ozark and Judy Cullifer (Terry), Dalton, GA; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and other extended family and friends.
