Mrs. Jeanette Watson Waddell, a long-time resident of Daleville, ascended to her heavenly home Sunday, October 2, 2022 surrounded by her family. She was 97 years old.
Join us for a celebration of the life of Mrs. Jeanette Watson Waddell 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 5, 2022, from Daleville Baptist Church with Reverend Jim Peters and Reverend Jud Waldrop officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.
The family will receive friends Wednesday in the church from 10:00 A.M. until service time. The funeral will be live-streamed on You-Tube from Daleville Baptist Church.
Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons, Kenny Allsup, Tony Bell, Chris Bell, Kyle Smith, Kody Smith and Clay Fleming.
Mrs. Waddell was born November 4, 1924 in Piedmont, Alabama to the late Lee and Carl Watson. She was married to the love of her life, James E. Waddell. They enjoyed camping, fishing and traveling with friends and neighbors. Mrs. Waddell was a retired Department of The Army Civil Service employee. She worked for the ALMD Division with 30+ years of service. She was a member of the Daleville Baptist Church where she adored the ladies of her Sunday School Class. They shared their love and life experiences and looked forward to spending time together. Miss Jeanette had a lively sense of humor and was affectionally known as “The Boss”! She had a special way to entertain you making you laugh in any situation.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Carl Watson; her husband, James E. Waddell; children, Linda Waddell Hopper and James Jerry Waddell; brothers, Gilbert Watson and Guy Watson; granddaughter, Melinda Hopper Manandhar; sons-in-law, Paul Phillips and Walter Robinson; sisters-in-law, Velma Watson and Jessie Mae Watson; and nephew, Max Watson.
Miss Jeanette is survived by her children, Sheila Waddell Allsup, Suzanne Waddell Robinson, Mark Waddell (Louise), Anita Waddell Phillips; son-in-law, Walter Hopper; a special nephew, Carl Watson, a special friend and caregiver, Melony Watson; thirteen grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren; and a treasury of relatives and friends.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made in her memory to Daleville Baptist Church, 100 Donnell Blvd., Daleville, Alabama 36322.
