ROCKY HEAD COMMUNITY…Mrs. Jeretha Ann “Ree” Smith, a resident of the Rocky Head Community, near Ariton, died Wednesday morning, November 22, 2023, at her home. She was 61.


            Celebration of Life Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, November 26, 2023, in the Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery in the Rocky Head Community. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.


            Mrs. Smith was born May 10, 1962, in Brundidge, Alabama and has lived in the Rocky Head Community all her life. She was formerly employed with O’Tasty Restaurant in Brundidge. Mrs. Smith left her mark by being a talented artist, having painted numerous canvas paintings that the family will forever cherish.  She was a person of strong faith, having a personal relationship with her heavenly father. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her father, Jessie Hamby; a sister, Patricia Hamby and a brother, Jessie “Tootsie” Hamby.


            Surviving relatives include her husband, Randy Smith, Rocky Head Community; two sons, Keith Smith (Kimberly), Dothan, and Andy Smith, Rocky Head Community; her mother, Margaret McMillon Hamby, Rocky Head Community; three sisters, Debbie Cargile (John), Prattville, Shellie Chapman (Don), Brundidge, and Lisa Ward (Kenny Carroll), Clio; her brother, John Hamby (Tonia), Prattville; two grandchildren, Brianna Smith and Jacob Smith; nieces and nephews.
