Mrs. Jo Ann Grimes Pridgen of Samson passed away Saturday, December 20, 2014 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center. She was 71.


 


Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 22, in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Eddins officiating.  Burial will follow in the Piney Grove Baptist Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home and Crematory of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.


 


Mrs. Pridgen was born February 26, 1943 in Geneva County to the late Charlie B. and Mattie Mae Carter Grimes. She was a devoted wife, loving sister and dedicated member of the Sellersville Assembly of God Church where she delighted in fellowshipping with her friends. Mrs. Pridgen worked in the textile industry as a sewing machine operator until her retirement.


 


In addition to her parents, one sister and a brother-in-law, J.C. Gillis preceded her in death.


 


Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Neal Pridgen; a sister, Mabel Gillis; a very special nephew, Mike Gillis  (Shannon); one great-nephew,  Christopher  Gillis; one great-niece Hannah Gillis all of Samson; other extended family and friends.
