Obituary: Mrs. Jo Ann Jackson (Cook) Hartzog
Mrs. Jo Ann Jackson (Cook) Hartzog of Slocomb passed away Thursday, February 10, 2022 at her residence following a brief illness. She was 83.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 13, 2022 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb with Bro. Kevin Hill officiating. Burial will follow in the Goodwater FWB Church Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday beginning at 1:00 p.m. and continuing until service time.
Mrs. Hartzog was born February 3, 1939 in Ashford to the late Harmon Augustus and Ethel Sanders Jackson. She was a hardworking woman, having worked many jobs throughout her life. Mrs. Hartzog loved roses and spending time with her family. She was a member of Goodwater FWB Church.
In addition to her parents, her husband, Paul J. Hartzog two sons: Kenneth and Paul Anthony Hartzog; two brothers and four sisters all preceded her in death.
Survivors include her daughter, Sherry Cook Fillingim (Andy); son, Keith Hartzog (Paula); grandchildren: Brandon A. Fillingim, Matthew Miller, Amanda Peterman, Paula Marie Simpson, and David J. Hartzog; great grandchildren: Jackson T. Geddings, Meredith D. Peterman, Brett Gee, Peyton Hiltz, Haley Simpson Shelby, Rustin Simpson, Anne Katherine (Jacob), Gunnar, Gray, and Audrey Hartzog; sisters: Linda Haden and Ola Mae Bowman; special great nephew, David E. Hartzog; other nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
