Obituary: Mrs. Joann Crawford Lawson
Mrs. Joann Crawford Lawson of Dothan, AL passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2019. She was 66.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 27, 2019, 11:00 A.M. at Living Waters Church of God In Christ, 190 McLeod Dr., Hartford, AL where Elder William A. Brown is the pastor. Rev. Pamela Edwards will be the Officiant and Rev. Vernon McLeod, Eulogist.
A Visitation Service will be held Friday, April 26, 2019 in the Chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home, 1315 West Lawrence Harris Hwy, Slocomb, AL, from 6-8:00 P.M.
Joann was born on September 23, 1952 the fourth child born to the late Hubert Sr. & the late Lillie Mae Crawford. She received her education in the Dale County & the Geneva County Education System. Her religious affiliations included Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church, Hartford, AL and Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, Prattville, AL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Marsha Lawson, and a sister, Lillian Ivery.
Those left to cherish her memories: five sons, Edward (Renee) Lawson Jr., Terry (Joanna) Lawson, Ormont “Koolie” Lawson, Chris (LaVonne) Lawson, & Johnathan Lawson. The father of her children, Edward Lawson Sr. Three brothers, Hubert Jr. (Lois) Crawford, William “Bo” Crawford, Eddie (Ossie) Crawford & Kozell Crawford. Two sisters, Geretha Jeter, & Melinda (John) Ward, An aunt, Dora (Nelson) Hughes. Thirteen Grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren. She will also be remembered by her Hartford High School Classmates, Sis. Annie Dean Graham and Sis. Glenda Smith; a special friend, Sis. Jacqueline Clay, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
