Loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Josie Clearman Arledge (Miss Josie), age 93, of Dothan, Al, went to be with the Lord on May 20, 2017.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Frank Arledge, her son Rev. Tommy Arledge, her parents, Euel and Fannie Clearman, her brother, Hubert Clearman and her sisters, Etmer Bruner and Lois Woodham.
She is survived by her daughter, Joyce Arledge Pybus and son-in-law Mickey Pybus, her daughter-in-law, Linda Arledge, her five grandchildren, Shannon Clark (Sadie Nelson), Jason Pybus, Brandon Pybus (Jennifer), Maria Arledge and Michelle Arledge, and her four great-grandchildren, Christian Clark, Anders Pybus and Colton Pybus and Waylon Pybus, several nieces, nephews and cousins and many loving friends, including two very special longtime friends, Jo Mixon and Mildred Outlaw.
Funeral services will be held at Ward Wilson Chapel at 11 A.M. on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 with Reverends Eddie Littlefield, Larry Newton, and John Sanders officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to the SAMC Foundation for the Cancer Patient Navigation Program.
The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at Extendicare, Kindred Hospice, Dr. John Dunn and Rachel Tate, and Dr. Donavan Wewers for their excellent care. They also want to thank Lawanna Dykes and Shirley Brackin for faithfully driving Miss Josie to church at her beloved Greystone United Methodist Church for the past several years and all of the members of her Sunday School Class for their love and friendship.
