Mrs. Joyce Farrell Brady, beloved mother passed into the arms of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on Sunday, March 6, 2022.
She was born on December 31, 1933 in a sharecropper’s house on Paul Lamp Road, Pansey, Alabama to the late Steve and Anna (Lynn) Anglin. She was married to Emmett Maxwell Brady on June 19, 1948 until his passing April 7, 1985. She raised with her late husband Maxwell “DaddyMac” their children, Maxine Harper (Cedric), Peggy Brady, the late James “Buster” Brady-Hancock (Doris), Johnnie Brady, Joe Brady (Denise), Jeff Brady (Tish), Betty Brady, and Melinda Wills (JJ); numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Her sister, Linda Aman, is her only surviving sibling. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church for over 50 years, where she served in the women’s ministry, served on the flower committee, and also served as choir director. During her working career, she worked in the Environmental Department at Farly Nuclear Plant and as a Teacher’s Aide in the Ashford School System. Joyce loved baking and was well known for her butternut, lane, and lemon pound cake. She also enjoyed gardening and was known for her roses and hydrangeas. She was best known as Mama Joyce to many that dearly loved her and she helped raise many children throughout the community.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at Liberty Baptist Church with Reverend Jeff Peacock officiating. Burial will follow in Union Springs Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.
The family will receive friends from 5 PM until 7 PM, Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home.
