Mrs. Juanita Conner Smith of Dothan passed away Monday, July 22, 2013, at the Southeast Alabama Medical Center following an lengthy illness with her family by her side.

 

Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M. Thursday, July 25, 2013, at the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Raymond Holt officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.

 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 P.M. Wednesday, July 24, 2013. At other times, the family will be gathered at the home of her daughter, Carmelita Bowman. Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to the Wiregrass Humane Society, 255 Gerry Dr. Dothan, AL or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 100 Chase Park, Suite 220, Birmingham, AL 35244.

 

Mrs. Smith was very active in the business of J & W Heating and Cooling, but most of all, she was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed fishing, camping with her daughter and husband. She also was trying to learn to play the piano again.

 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie and Vera Conner, loving husband, Wayne “N” Smith, and brother, Mitchell Conner.

 

Survivors include daughter, Carmelita (Carmie) Bowman and her husband, Edwin of Dothan; son, Ronald (Ron) Wayne Smith and his wife, Laura Denson Smith of Houston, TX; grandchildren, James (Jamie) and Ellen Bowman, Misty Marie and Tim Bradshaw, Mitchell Wayne and Allison Bowman, Jennifer Sue and Jeff Bradshaw, Ronald Wayne (Little Ronnie) Smith and Racheal , great-grandchildren, Katie Bowman, Lauren and Gage Jones,  Sarah Smith, special companion, Bear, and several nieces and nephews.
