Obituary:  Mrs. Judy Beatrice McVay Welch

 

Mrs. Judy Beatrice McVay Welch of Wicksburg passed away, Saturday, July 11, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loving family.  She was 72. 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Slocomb with Rev. Billy Fortune officiating.  Interment will follow in the Piney Grove Assembly of God Church Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends one hour prior to service times. 

Mrs. Welch was born January 18, 1948 in Crenshaw County to the late James Morgan and Alice Eilam McVay.  Judy was a loving wife, mother, and adoring grandmother who will be dearly missed. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Daniel “Dan” Welch. 

Survivors include her children: Jeff Pybus (Jeanie), and Jamey Pybus (Kristie); step children: Jeff Welch (Bertie), and Donna Lindsay (Jerome); grandchildren: Justin (Britney), Travis, Landon (Sidney), Amanda, Stephanie (Caleb), Brittney, Jaydan, Kalista, Ima, Callie, Haley, Leighann, and Holly; 12 great grandchildren; siblings: Mary Alice Broawn, Frances Culpepper (Earl), and Tommy McVay (Susie); several nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
