Mrs. June Groover, age 78, a resident of Dothan passed away Wednesday September 3, 2014 at Flowers Hospital after a brief illness. 


Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, September 6, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church with Dr. James B. Sanders, III and Dr. R. Lawson Bryan officiating and Kendall Glover of Glover Funeral Home directing. 


The family will be receiving friends in the Church Parlor from 1 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. prior to services.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Wiregrass Humane Society, P.O. Box 1045, Dothan, AL. 36302 or to the American Cancer Society, 3054 McGehee Rd., Montgomery, AL. 36111. 


Mrs. Groover was born on June 1, 1936 in Flushing, N.Y. the daughter of Emil Ormsby Schramm and Aimee Lafoye Morissey Schramm.  She was a 1953 Graduate of Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, N.H.   June moved to Dothan 48 years ago from Tampa, FL.  She was retired as the owner of Grate Things Restaurant and she was a member of the First United Methodist Church. 


She was preceded in death by her parents. 


Survivors include: Husband, Ben Groover, Dothan; two daughters, Holly Groover, Dothan; Merry Groover Brown (Shaun), Chattanooga, TN.; two sons, Jeff Groover (Dawn), Dothan; Clint Groover (Kandy), Dothan; 7 grandchildren, Ashley Brown, Shaun Ryan Carter, Nicholas Brown, Logan Groover, Lauren Groover, Avery Groover and Colin Groover; 2 great-grandchildren, Abigail Brown and Madison Carter. 


Glover Funeral Home of Dothan has been entrusted with the arrangements.
