Kathryn T. Seay, a caring and spirited soul, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2024, in Dothan, Alabama, at the age of 94. Born on October 14, 1930, in Houston County, Alabama, Kathryn’s life was a testament to her loving nature and passionate dedication to her family, faith, and community.
A private graveside service was held with Pastor Jim Tate officiating and Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.
Kathryn grew up in a bustling household and was one of eight siblings. Although she was preceded in death by her parents, John and Maggie Thomas, her devoted husband, Max Seay, and her siblings, her legacy lives on through her loving family. She is survived by her son, Jimmy Seay (Donna), and daughter, Kay Carter (Mark). Her grandchildren, Brandon Carter, Amanda Simerly, and Tracey McCord, along with several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, will forever cherish the memories they shared with her.
A proud graduate of Rehobeth High School, Kathryn furthered her education at Wallace Community College, where she honed her skills that would serve her well in her calling as a nurse at Flowers Hospital. Her caring hands and compassionate heart touched the lives of countless individuals, embodying the healing ministry of Christ.
Kathryn was a charter member of Cloverdale Baptist Church, where she contributed not only as a member of the Sunshine Sunday School Class but also shared her deep faith by teaching Sunday school for many years. Her passion for the Lord was evident in all she did, from visiting the residents of nursing homes to distributing gospel tracts and Christian literature. She was a gardener of souls, nurturing faith and love in the community she held so dear.
Her interests were a reflection of her loving and spirited nature; gardening was not just a hobby but a testament to her care for God’s creation. Kathryn’s passion extended beyond the soil; her dedication to her family was unparalleled. Cherishing her family immensely, she found joy in the laughter and stories shared at family reunions, her presence a cornerstone of unity and love.
Kathryn lived a life marked by passion, a passion that was contagious to all who encountered her. Her spirited laughter and loving embraces were as much a part of her as her unwavering faith. She walked through life with a grace that was grounded in her love for the Lord and her family.
