JACK, ALABAMA… Mrs. Kathryn Virag Baker, a resident of the Jack Community in Coffee County, died early Wednesday morning, April 26, 2023, in UAB Hospital in Birmingham. She was 65.


            Celebration of Life Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, May 1, 2023, in the Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Matt Sasser officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements.


            Mrs. Baker, daughter of the late Joseph David Virag and Norma Nell Lott Virag, was a native of Massachusetts and moved to the Wiregrass area several years ago. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and cooking for her family. Mrs. Baker enjoyed being with her family and she never met a stranger.  She was of the Catholic faith. Mrs. Baker was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph A. “Tony” Virag.


            Surviving relatives include her companion, Robert Ashley Clark; two daughters, Shelby D. LuJan (Holland), New Jersey and Christina Eutsey (Calvin), Ozark; a son, Mitchell B. Doster, Huntsville, Alabama; a sister, Patricia V. Balli (Enrique), Dothan; two brothers, John Thomas Virag, Florida and Mike Virag, Dothan; a sister-in-law, Elaine Virag, Ozark; nine grandchildren, Erica Goodson, Kayleigh Blaise, Alandra LuJan, Jake LuJan, Isabel LuJan, Samuel Doster, Israel Doster, Kenneth Hornsby, and Christina Eutsey; eight great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
