Mrs. Laura Jean Bryant of Samson passed away Friday, December 07, 2012.  She was 74.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 11, 2012 in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home in Samson with Rev. James Earl Bracewell officiating.  Burial will follow in Travelers Rest Cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Samson directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral on Monday, December 10, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.


 Mrs. Bryant was born in Geneva County on March 28, 1938 to the late JD Roberson and Etta Hill Roberson.  She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Pearlie Paul, and Mable Roberson; three brothers, Junior Roberson, Herldon Roberson and Jeff Roberson.


 She is survived by her son, Rickey Brannon of Samson; daughter, Tammy Robinson; nephew, JJ Robinson; five grandchildren, Scott Adams, Brandon Robinson, Selena Robinson, Joshua Robinson and Erica Robinson; three great grandchildren, Brianna Adams, Katy Adams and Jeffrey Adams; four sisters, Mattie Chamblee of Kinston, Martha Vandergrift, Myrtle Mullins (Johnny), all of Samson and Nettie Hudson (Charlie) of Elba; brothers, Eddie Robinson (Inez) and Jerry Robinson (Dorothy), all of Samson; and countless nieces and nephews.
