Mrs. Lewis Frankie Tucker Young, of Webb, was born on December 5, 1919 to the late David Tucker and Lavada White Tucker.
Lewis moved to Jacksonville, Florida where she was employed by The Mayport Naval Station. While working there she met and married Richard Edward Young. They were later transferred to The Naval Air Station in Alameda, California. She lived in Oakland until she moved back to Alabama in 2006.
She had a passion for shopping, fishing, and traveling and she was a member of the West Coast Cruisers. They traveled many places such as the Caribbean, the Mediterranean, and Hong Kong.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard E. Young; two brothers, H. C. “Bud” Tucker and Roy Tucker; five sisters, Henrietta Brown, Minnie Jackson, Kathleen Jones, Kate Stringer, and Cassie B. Lynn.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories, her nephew and caretaker, James Reynolds and Mollie Reynolds, other nieces and nephews, Robert Jones, Johnny Jones, Brenda Jones, and Freda Jones of Whitakers, North Carolina, Jimi (Carolyn) Jones, Battlesboro, NC, Sidney Jones, Rocky Mount, NC, Vinnie (John) Best, Washington, DC, Jean (James) Watson, Amelia (John) Gowdy, Miami, FL, Sydney Johnson, Atlanta, GA, Estelle (Stella) Tucker, Shea (Terence) White, and Brittney Tucker, Dothan, AL, Audra Whyte, Yasmine Whyte, Marie A Fryer, J. Maria Fryer, Dothan, AL; several great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, April 21, 2018 from the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel.
The family will be accepting flowers.
