LINDA KING ANDERSON
Mrs. Linda King Anderson of Cowarts passed away Friday, August 16, 2019 at the age of 75.
She was born in Bascom, Florida to George and Thelma King and moved to Houston County at
a young age where she attended Ashford school from 1st to 12th grade and graduated from
Ashford High School. One of her classmates throughout those years, Earl Lamar Anderson,
later became the love of her life and husband. She was a Christian and member of Faith Baptist
Church. For over 20 years she worked as a hairdresser and owned her own beauty shop for
many years.
In addition to her husband of 56 years, Lamar Anderson, survivors include granddaughters
Payton Smith and Logan Withers, great grandsons Robbie Smith and Rylan Lerner, her sister Sue
(Dennis) Miller, brother in law and sister in law, Glenn and Ann Anderson, nieces and nephews,
Michelle (Ashley) Whitehurst, Wade Miller, Karen Parsons, Cheryl (Dexter) Crawford, Lance
(Debbie) Vann, Chad (April) Anderson, Kesha Anderson, Gerald (Laura) Bagwell, and Ryan
(Debbie) Bagwell. She was also blessed with many great nieces and nephews and friends.
She was predeceased in death by her parents and daughter, Leslie Withers, her in laws Harvey
and Dessie Anderson, Lowell and Carolyn Kirkland, and Tommy and Faye Vann.
Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M. Monday, August 19, 2019 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home
with Reverend Coley M. Holloway officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with
Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers will be members of her AHS graduating class
of 1962.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9 to 10 A.M. Monday, one hour prior to
the service. Flowers will be accepted.
