Mrs. Linda Ezell Whitman, a longtime resident of Lynn Haven, Florida and formerly of Ozark, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 8, 2024. She was 80 years old.
Funeral services for Linda will be graveside 10:00 A.M. Linda was born June 1, 1944 to the late Walker Ezell and Winnie May Barentine Ezell. Linda retired from Winn Dixie after many years of service working and managing in almost every department in stores both in Alabama and Florida. She was well loved by the employees who nicknamed her “Fox” as everyone said she was the prettiest girl in the store. She accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior as a young adult. Reading her Bible and sitting quietly listening to gospel music in her last years is where she found peace. She never met a stranger and enjoyed talking with and meeting new people. Before his passing, Saturdays were always for cheering on Alabama football together with her late husband, Freddie. She also loved working in her yard with her flowers and plants. Her constant companion at home for the last three years was her precious little poodle Skipper. They took good care of each other!
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Freddie Milton Whitman in 2021; her beloved son, Rayburn Woodham (Woody) Paramore, Jr. and one other stillborn child; and her two brothers, Colbert Ezell and Billy Gene Ezell.
Linda is survived by her two daughters, Dana Paramore Dunnigan (Dennis) of Panama City and Dawn Paramore of Panama City Beach; her granddaughter, Jade Paramore (Brylee) of Panama City; and brand new great grandson, Rowan Woods, who she was able to meet and hold in the last two weeks. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Timothy Dunnigan (Christin), Michael Dunnigan (Elaine), and Ashley Dunnigan (Chris) all of Panama City and their children. Also surviving is her late husband Freddie’s children, Debbie Trawick (Keith), Diane Hill (Billy), both of Ozark, and Paul Whitman (D.J.) of Cairo, Georgia; many great grandchildren; one surviving sibling, her dear sister, Peggy Chapman of Texas; her ‘other sister’ cousin is Betty Oglesby of St. Louis, Missouri. There are also many cousins, nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles both surviving her and those who have gone before her. She is also survived by special friends, Rayburn and Melanie Paramore.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her memory to either St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, Tennessee 38105; or to Angel House Bereavement Center, 1015 Grace Avenue Suite C, Panama City, Florida 32401.
