OZARK… Mrs. Linda Gail Phillips Smith, a resident of Ozark (formerly of Skipperville), died Sunday morning, October 2, 2022, at her home. She was 75.


            Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 5, 2022, in the Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Bobby Peters officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements.


            Mrs. Smith, daughter of the late Raymond Phillips and Hazel Price Phillips, was a native of Clio. She formerly lived in Skipperville for several years before moving to Ozark in 2019. Mrs. Smith was retired from Phillips Van Heusen in Ozark as a supervisor after forty years of employment. She was a member of Harvest Free Will Baptist Church and attended Morgan Baptist Church in Skipperville. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Smith.


            Surviving relatives include her daughter, Debbie Thomley; her son, Frankie McLaney (Robin), all of Ozark; two grandchildren, Joshua McLaney and Dalton Thomley; brother, Paul Phillips, Gadsden, Alabama; stepdaughter, Vickie Brinkman (Howard), Mobile; two step-grandchildren, Mike Brinkman and Kendall Brinkman; her caregivers, Mary Anne Wilkerson and Bernice Gray; numerous cousins and friends.
