Mrs. Louvena Duke Stewart passed away September 22, 2017 in Albany, Georgia, after an early morning house fire. She would have celebrated her 92nd birthday November 4, 2017.
Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Mike Shirah officiating. Burial will follow in Pilgrim Home Baptist Church Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 to 11 A.M. Tuesday, September 26, 2017, one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Gideons International or to the Samaritan’s Purse Disaster Relief Florida.
She was born in Orlando, Florida to Oscar and Elizabeth Duke.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Ernest and Bill, two sisters Betty and Louise, her husband Ernest and youngest son Stan. Her daughter Geraldine perished with her in the fire
She was married to James Ernest Stewart and was a military wife and mother. Upon retirement from the military, they settled in Pinellas Park, Florida. She lived there over fifty years until two years ago when she came to stay with her daughter in Albany, Georgia.
She is survived by Geraldine’s husband Jerry, son Jim (Virginia) Stewart, son Ron (Darla) Stewart, son Paul (Sam) Stewart, daughter-in-law Charlene Stewart, two sisters Rosie Westbrook and Margaret Lovely, grandchildren Darlene (Todd), Cassie (Joe), Jimmy (Kaylyn), Terri (Ron) , Eric and Dianna, Carlene, Nicole and Spring, Beverly and Hillary (Joe), 25 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
