Mrs. Mary Lucille McCraney, of Dothan passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2015. She was 94.
Born January 6, 1921 in Houston County to the late Willie Paul and Ina Yarbrough Devane, Mrs. McCraney was a member of Cowarts Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing, embroidery and cross-stitching. She also enjoyed shopping and working with flowers. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother who will be greatly missed.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, William G. Piehl and James McCraney; her sisters, Dessie Anderson, Willabell Whatford, Zora Lashley, Cora Hilson, Trudy Swords and Pauline Powell; her brothers, Lawton Devane and Coy Devane; and a son-in-law, Pat Phillips.
Survivors include her daughters, Paula (Harold) Armstrong, Martha Phillips and Donna (Kenneth) Goodnight; her sister, Margaret Smith; her grandchildren, Teresa (Gene) Hughes, Amy (Steve) Warren, Lisa (Galen) Howell, Tony (Michelle) Phillips, Brent (Jennifer) Phillips, Scott (Victoria) Phillips, and Jason (Angel) Watson; her great-grandchildren, Emily (Turner) Shelley, Jeremy McCormick, Amber Warren, Maci Phillips, Griffin Phillips, Bailey Phillips, Lizzy Phillips, Jaxson Phillips, Katelynn Birdsong and Austin Birdsong.
Funeral services will be held at 10 AM, Thursday, September 3, 2015 at the Ward Wilson Funeral Home with Reverend Johnny Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 9 AM until 10 AM, Thursday, September 3, 2015 one hour prior to service time.
Active pallbearers will be Tony Phillips, Brent Phillips, Scott Phillips, Jason Watson, Griffin Phillips and Jeremy McCormick.
