Mrs. Lucille Tindell of Slocomb passed away Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at Campbellton-Graceville Hospital. She was 85.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 17, in the First Baptist Church in Slocomb with Rev. Dan Raley and Rev. Larry Newton officiating. Burial will follow in Slocomb City Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. At other times, the family will be at the home of Vicky and Phil Singletary.
Mrs. Tindell was born on November 15, 1926 in Coffee County, AL to the late Eual Austin and Lera Ziglar Turner. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Slocomb.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Tindell, her parents and an infant grandson.
Survivors include one daughter: Vicky Singletary (Phil) of Slocomb; four sons: James E. Tindell (Elviria) of Guatemala City, Guatemala, Larry Tindell (Mary Jane) of Webb, Ricky Tindell (Beverly) of Dothan, Charles Tindell (Patti) of Taylor; one sister: Arelia Atkins (J.D.) of El Paso, TX; one brother: Moody Turner (Leevon) of Hartford; 15 grandchildren: Carrie Tindell, Travis Tindell (Jennie), Nicholas Tindell, Jennifer Tindell, Daniela Tindell, Danilo Tindell, Andrea Tindell, Tim Tindell (Melanie), Joseph McKinney, Richie Tindell (Chrystal), Paige Hardy (Bryant), Mark Singletary (Melanie), Chad Singletary (Terri), Brandon Tindell, Scarlett Tindell; 18 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express a very special thank you to Dr. Steve Davis; nurses and support personnel at Campbellton-Graceville Hospital, Graceville, FL; Jimmy King and Covenant Hospice, Marianna, FL; Signature Healthcare Rehab of Graceville, FL.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
