Margaret Nell Hales Glover
Mrs. Margaret Nell Hales Glover of Slocomb passed away Saturday, July 13, 2013 at Flowers Hospital. She was 79.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16 in Bethel Baptist Church in Hartford with Rev. Terry Glover, Rev. Kenneth Etheridge and Rev. Dwain Tingle officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Slocomb directing.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.
Margaret was born on December 23, 1933 in Geneva County to the late William B. “Buster” and Nellie Sue McCormick Hales. Margaret was a faithful woman of God who loved her Lord and was a lifelong member of Bethel Baptist Church. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who adored her family and attended to their every need. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and was an accomplished seamstress.
In addition to her parents, one sister, Virginia Avelino; two brothers: Jimmy and Earl Hales and one grandson, Jason Livings preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband of sixty years, Hubert Glover, Slocomb; two daughters: Lisa Livings (Larry) Slocomb and Denise Tindell (Danny), Hartford; one son, Victor Glover (Kassie), Dothan; five grandchildren: Amanda Glover Killingsworth, Hannah Glover, Ciji Tindell, David Tindell and Stephanie Livings Wells; five great-grandchildren: Taten Killingsworth, Kainen Killingsworth, Jenna Palmer, Jaycie Palmer and Alexander Jason Wells; five sisters: Betty Boswell (Fred), Phenix City, Helen Hicks (Gerald), Dothan, Brenda Etheridge (Kenneth), Geneva, Peggy Tew (Jackie), Dothan and Ann Clemmons, (John), CA; two brothers: Ronald Hales (Virginia) and Charles Hales (Carolyn) both of Hartford; several nieces and nephews and other extended family and friends.
