   Mrs. Margie Jane Cardwell Outlaw, a resident of Newton, died Sunday, August 18, 2024, after a beautifully lived life surrounded by her loved ones. She was 83 years old.


   To honor her beautiful journey and to celebrate the love she spread, a memorial service will be held at Newton United Methodist Church, located at 233 King Street in Newton, Alabama, Monday, August 26, 2024 at 10:00 A.M., Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.


   The family invites all who knew her to join them in remembering a truly remarkable woman. The family will receive friends in the church Monday from 9:00 A.M. until service time.


   Margie was a wonderful daughter, sister, mother, granny, and friend. She was always there when anyone needed her, whether it was offering support, wisdom, a listening ear, or love. Whatever she had to give, she gave in abundance. She was born in Pike County and graduated from Opp High School and was a cherished and exemplary employee of the United States Postal Service, where she retired after decades of service.


   She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, John B. Outlaw; daughters, Shannon Simmons (Skipper) and Tracy Outlaw (Kat); grandchildren, Mark Coker (Flame), Karrah Turner (Wes), Shyan Lovern (Clayson), Aiden Outlaw, Makenna Outlaw, Jordan Montes, Kaylan Ackles, Brandie Simmons, Sherie Simmons, Savannah Simmons; great grandchildren, Morgan, Cole, Harper, Bindi, Vivien, Gable, John Clayton, Layla, Temperance, Brayden, Bentley. Margie will also be lovingly remembered by her sisters, brother, cousins, nieces and nephews.


   In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to their beloved church, Newton United Methodist Church, or a charity of your choice, honoring Margie’s legacy.
