Mrs. Marguerita McLeod Crews of Geneva, Alabama went home to be with her Lord, Sunday, April 19, 2015, surrounded by her loving and devoted family. She was 86.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 21, 2015, in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Gerald Hollis and Rev. Dickie McAllister officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Ridge United Methodist Church Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home and Crematory of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 12:00 p.m. and continue until service time.
Mrs. Crews was born June 9, 1928, in Slocomb, Alabama to the late John Angus and Ethel Harris McLeod. She enjoyed gardening and was a member of the Athenaeum Club in Geneva. After several years of service she retired from Wiregrass Nursing Home as a Registered Nurse. Mrs. Crews was a member of Eden Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, her husband, Erskine Crews, and a daughter, Rosanna Crews Heil, preceded her in death.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Cleve and Dolores Crews of Pelham, AL; one granddaughter, Amanda Gaskins; four great-grandchildren: Nathan, Landon, Olivia and Mary Clare Gaskins all of Helena, AL; other extended family and friends.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Gentiva Hospice for the love, compassion and special care that was given to their Mother.
