Obituary: Mrs. Marian Mae Vann



 



Mrs. Marian Mae Vann of Slocomb passed away Monday, December 7, 2020 at Flowers Hospital. She was 63.



 



A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 10, 2020 at Slocomb First Baptist Church with Rev. Brad Price officiating.



 



Flowers will be accepted of contributions may be made to Slocomb First Baptist Church Building Fund, 225 North Dalton Street, Slocomb, AL 36375.



 



Mrs. Vann was born April 12, 1957 in Ft. Benning, GA to the late Willis E. and Ruth Brozat Hall. Marian was a wonderful loving person. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Marian was a loving wife of 30 years. She adored her husband Greg. She loved caring for him and loved him until her passing. She also adored her only child, Michael. Marian committed her life to his happiness. She was lovingly referred to as Nana by her two grandchildren: Alexis and Austin. There was absolutely nothing that came before them. They were her pride and joy. Growing up she was the big sister to Alex, Cindy, Steve, Patrick, and Patricia. She cared for them as a mother cares for her children. Marian has been a hard worker since she was sixteen. Her career of 36 years at Apartment Service Management where she received many awards for her accomplishments. It was not just her job; it was a ministry. She tended to the needs of all her tenants who loved her dearly. Marian gave of herself unselfishly. To know Marian was to love her.



 



In addition to her parents, two brothers: Alex Hall, and Steven Hall; sister, Patricia Hall all preceded her in death.



 



Survivors include her husband, Greg Vann; son Michael Szczekot; two grandchildren: Alexis Szczekot, and Austin Szczekot; siblings: Cindy Mitchell (Ralph), Patrick Hall (Greta), and Wesley Perry (Judy); dear friends: Paula Segrest, and Virginia Riley; other extended family and friends.
