Martha Clyde Warr Bush, age 79, of Clayton, Alabama passed away on March 9, 2021 at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, Alabama.


 


Funeral services will be held Friday, March 12, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Clayton Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Brown and Rev. Josh Powell officiating and Glover Funeral Home of Clayton directing. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.  All social distancing and mask guidelines will be observed.


 


Mrs. Bush was born July 19, 1941 in Clayton, Alabama the daughter of Clyde Lafayette Warr and Lula Corine Beaty Warr. She grew up in Clayton and graduated from Clayton High School where she was a cheerleader and homecoming queen. She attended Troy University and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. She was a wonderful teacher for over forty years and absolutely loved teaching and mentoring her students. She was a member of the Camilla Garden Club and a lifelong member of Clayton Baptist Church. She enjoyed sitting in her garden bird watching, listening to the garden fountains, and admiring her beautiful flowers. She will forever be remembered as a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.


 


She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 49 years, Neil Clifton Bush; sister, Sara Warr Lott, son-in-law, Andy Kizer and granddaughter, Casey Kizer.


 


Survivors include: son, Charles Sewell (Wanda) of Clayton; 2 daughters, Leisa Kizer (Don Lilly) of Birmingham and Susan Brown (Jeremy) of Clayton; brother, Joe Warr of St. Simons Island, 2 sisters, Elaine Killingsworth (Thomas) of Clayton and Jackie Guthrie (Keith) of Clayton; 6 grandchildren, Amanda Marefka (Alex), Andy Kizer (Crystal), Brian Kizer (Claire) Caitlyn Brown, Caleb Brown and Abby Brown; 3 great-grandchildren, Andrea Kizer, Kylie Marefka, and Chloe Kizer.


 


Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to the Lakeside School attention Martha Bush Scholarship Fund- 1020 Lake Dr. Eufaula, AL 36027.


 


Asked to serve as pallbearers: Andy Kizer Jr., Brian Kizer, Don Lilly, Jeremy Brown, Caleb Brown, and Shug Rowland.
